In the heart of the Sicilian hinterland, among the altitudes of Contrada Pianetto, Baglio di Pianetto interprets viticulture as an expression of the mountains and territorial identity. The vineyards, located between approximately 700 and 900 meters above sea level, represent one of the rarest expressions of Sicilian highland viticulture, where the cool climate and strong temperature variations allow for slow ripening and highly precise aromatic expression.
The project is based on a production vision geared towards quality and the valorization of the most suitable parcels, through careful microzoning and targeted agronomic management. The certified organic approach and the use of advanced monitoring technologies allow for timely interventions that respect the vineyard’s natural balance.
The winemaking philosophy is guided by teamwork that integrates experience, research, and respect for the territory: from the valorization of individual varietals to the reduction of interventions in the cellar, to a constant attention to the expressive purity of the wine.
The result is high-altitude wines that combine freshness, elegance, and complexity, capable of accurately describing a mountainous territory unique in the Sicilian winemaking landscape.
Today, the Baglio di Pianetto project focuses on the mountainous area between Santa Cristina Gela and Piana degli Albanesi, with a progressive redefinition of the vineyard areas and the introduction of new plantings intended to further strengthen the identity of its mountain wines.
